bob ballard

Bob Ballard’s career started after he was awarded a Goldsmith’s Travelling Bursary to study and draw Romanesque art in Spain. Since then he has won many prizes, including 1st Prize at Millfield and the Bruckhaus Deringer Award at the RWS, Bankside. He has been a council member for both the SGFA and the BSA for a number of years. His work encompasses pretty much all genres and styles from abstraction to photo-realism and includes drawing, sculpture, painting and printmaking. One of his more recent products is a fifty metre long drawing (Celebes) which was exhibited at Wells Contemporary Art in 2014.

Formerly a senior lecturer at UWE and tutor for Coreox (Oxford University), he lives in the centre of Bristol where he has been instrumental in setting up a sculpture wall near the centre of the city.
